Michael Vaughan has stunned the cricket world once again with his cheeky take on Rohit Sharma's struggles in the ongoing IPL 2025. The former England captain suggested that Rohit Sharma might just rediscover his magic touch if he imagines wearing the Indian jersey instead of the Mumbai Indians kit in the ongoing tournament.

Rohit has been under the radar for his lackluster performances with the bat, and he yet again failed to make an impact against the Gujarat Titans, falling for just 8 runs to Mohammed Siraj. The Indian skipper’s yet another poor outing dealt a severe blow to Mumbai Indians, as they suffered a 36-run defeat against Gujarat Titans in their IPL 2025 clash on March 29 in Ahmedabad.

Michael Vaughan gives a hilarious suggestion to revive Rohit Sharma's form in the IPL 2025

After MI’s second defeat in a row in the ongoing IPL 2025, Vaughan believes that the playoff hopes of the five-time champions depend heavily on Rohit's resurgence as their go-to batter. The cricket pundit also reckoned that without Rohit firing at the top, MI’s chances of making it to the IPL 2025 playoffs look bleak.

The former England captain, who is known for his witty remarks and candid opinions, light-heartedly pointed out that Rohit needs to find that inner spark that sets him apart as one of the most formidable batters in world cricket.

Rohit Sharma has got to get his team off to flyer: Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan said on Cricbuzz: “He just has to pretend that he has got the Indian blues on and not the Mumbai blues. He is such a good player. For Mumbai to travel the distance this year, he has got to get runs. He has got to get his team off to flyers; he has got to get back his confidence, his mojo. I just think Mumbai without Rohit Sharma firing, I don't think they will make the qualification (playoffs). He is one of those few players who can win a game on his own.”

With his signature elegance missing and his confidence seemingly shaken, the MI is eager to see the Hitman bounce back and steer MI back on track this season. And the Englishman feels that once Rohit returns to his form, he can be as dangerous as he can single-handedly win the matches for MI.

Michael Vaughan says Rohit Sharma needs to find that inner motivation.

Vaughan signed off by saying, “Sometimes I watch Rohit, like in the Australia Test series, and he sometimes has that persona that he is not bothered when he is there. I am sure he is not like that. He needs to find that inner motivation. If he can find that, he can be very dangerous. He is one of those few players who can win a game on his own.”

With this loss, Mumbai Indians slipped to the ninth spot in the IPL 2025 points table. As they are yet to open their account this season, Hardik Pandya and Co. would be eager to win their next game against Kolkata Knight Riders at their Wankhede Stadium on Monday, March 31.
