England missed the chance of dismissing KL Rahul after ripping through the middle order on day two before close. On this occasion, captain Joe Root spilled another simple take, failing to cling on with both hands. However, it did not prove as costly since the 39-year old seamer dismissed Rahul before he reached a century. Nevertheless, the first dropped chance of Rahul could be the turning point of the game. James Anderson’s efforts have gone in vain multiple times, allowing the tourists to add precious runs to their total.

The home side certainly needed to be better as they managed only 183 on the board after winning the toss and batting first. With India’s lead crossing over 50, thanks to the 60-run stand between KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, England face an uphill task. Michael Vaughan, who often trolls the opposition players, could not hold back from taking a jibe towards his own.
