Former England captain has not been too impressed with the national team’s fielding performance in the ongoing first Test against India in Nottingham. While England’s bowlers have created chances and kept fighting by maintaining the lid on runs, they haven’t grabbed all the catches. Michael Vaughan took to his official Twitter handle and invited them to his fielding academy.

England missed the chance of dismissing KL Rahul after ripping through the middle order on day two before close. Rahul edged off James Anderson to the slip fielder; however, Dom Sibley could not hold on even after getting both hands. On day three, Anderson created yet another chance after lunch against the same batsman.

On this occasion, captain Joe Root spilled another simple take, failing to cling on with both hands. However, it did not prove as costly since the 39-year old seamer dismissed Rahul before he reached a century. Nevertheless, the first dropped chance of Rahul could be the turning point of the game. James Anderson’s efforts have gone in vain multiple times, allowing the tourists to add precious runs to their total.

The home side certainly needed to be better as they managed only 183 on the board after winning the toss and batting first. With India’s lead crossing over 50, thanks to the 60-run stand between KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, England face an uphill task. Michael Vaughan, who often trolls the opposition players, could not hold back from taking a jibe towards his own.
