The lanky pacer from New South Wales achieved the milestone during the third and final ODI match between Zimbabwe.

Although Australia suffered a three-wicket defeat by Regis Chakabva and their team, Starc had something to celebrate in the individual success of his flourishing international career.

Zimbabwe beat Australia by three wickets

While defending 142, Josh Hazlewood struck top-order wickets of Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Wesley Madhevere and Sean Williams to put the visitors under pressure.

Tadiwanashe Marumani was leading the chase on his shoulders, smashing four boundaries, before poking one behind to the keeper off Cameron Green.

Senior batter Sikandar Raza was caught by Starc at fine leg, while attempting to play the hook shot, only to find the leading edge.

Adam Zampa broke the 38-run stand between skipper Chakabva and Tony Munyonga with the cleaning up of the latter.

It was left up to Ryan Burl, who starred with the ball in the first innings (5/10), to get the job done with Zimbabwe 27 runs short of the target when he joined Chakabva at the crease.

Burl slog-swept Zampa for a mighty six over deep square leg and the equation was down to six runs of 14 overs.

Before Burl could take his side home, he was dismissed by Starc, while trying to play over mid-off only to get caught by Green. Starc has amassed 200 wickets in 102 games at an average of 22.32 and eight five-wicket hauls.

The Australian left-arm pacer overtook current Pakistan head coach Saqlain Mushtaq to become the fastest to 200 ODI wickets, the latter took 104 matches to achieve the feat.

Zimbabwe won their first-ever ODI match against Australia in Australia with a three-wicket win.

Australia will next host New Zealand for three ODI matches, starting on September 6 at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns.
