Mitchell Starc, on Thursday (October 23), took a brilliant juggling catch near the boundary to dismiss a well-set Axar Patel in the ongoing second ODI between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval.
The Indian all-rounder was well set and was batting on 44 runs off 40 balls when Adam Zampa came to bowl the 45th over of the innings. With only a handful of overs remaining in the innings, Axar Patel decided to go big on the very first ball of the over.

It was a tossed-up delivery outside the off stump from the Australian spin spearhead. The leg-spinner invited Axar to go for a big shot and the latter duly obliged. However, Axar could not clear the boundary and ended up losing his wicket.
Mitchell Starc ends Axar Patel's promising knock:
Axar got under the ball and lofted it towards long off where Mitchell Starc was stationed. At first, it looked like the ball would sail over the Australian pacer's head. However, Mitchell Starc had other ideas.
He kept his eyes on the ball throughout while moving back before catching it while staying side-on. The momentum took him outside the boundary rope but before that, he smartly tossed the ball up. Starc then regained his control and moved back inside the field of play to complete a fine catch.

India show a good fight
Talking about the match, India were on 245/8 in the 48th over at the time of writing this report. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana were batting in the middle for the tourists.
Earlier in the match, India were off to a disastrous start as they lost the wickets of Shubman Gill (9) and Virat Kohli (0) in the 7th over. Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer steadied the ship with a 118-run stand before both of them departed in quick succession to leave India reeling at 160/4 from 135/2.
Rohit departed for 73 runs while Iyer scored 61. The likes of KL Rahul (11), Washington Sundar (12) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (8) failed to deliver with the bat as India found themselves 8 down for 226.
