Mohammad Hasnain's Bowling Action Found To Be Illegal
Pakistan pacer Mohammad Hasnain was reported last month for having an illegal bowling action. He underwent tests on his action in January at the ICC-accredited biomechanics laboratory at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
The results confirm that a majority of his deliveries exceeded the tolerance limit of 15 degrees that is necessary to qualify as a legal bowling action, as per ESPNcricinfo.
Hasnain has already made his debut for Pakistan and has also taken a T20I hat-trick. As per ICC’s regulations, he can continue bowling in domestic tournaments as long as PCB approves. However, it seems unlikely as PCB had previously disallowed Mohammad Hafeez to bowl in 2016 after his action was deemed illegal.
Mohammad Hasnain was reported in the BBL after Moises Henriques comments mid-game
While facing Hasnain, Sydney Sixers captain, Moises Henriques had accused the youngster of ‘chucking’ the ball. The videos of the same went viral and soon after, the umpires ended up reporting the action.
He was set to have his action tested in Australia itself but since he was travelling back to Pakistan for the PSL, the officials decided to conduct the test in Lahore. He played three matches for Quetta Gladiators but will not be continuing for the time being.
