Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif showed support to Pakistan for a while because of the controversial act by the Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Miraz forced Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha to head back to the dressing room for a controversial run-out.
The run initiated a widespread controversy across social media platforms. Mohammad Kaif also joined the discussion by requesting the cricketers not to do the same thing Miraz did to take a wicket.
The controversial run out of Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha vs Bangladesh
Salman Ali Agha, who was at the non-striker's end, bent down to pick the ball up, which had hit his pad after being hit by the batter Mohammad Rizwan. Both Agha and Miraz went to pick the ball. The Pakistan skipper was well outside of his crease when he tried to pick the ball to hand it over to the bowler.
Before he grabbed the ball, Miraz quickly took it from the surface and in a quick reaction, hit the stumps as well. According to the rules, it was a runout. Salman Ali Agha was absolutely furious over the incident. He showed his anger by throwing a glove on the ground.
Mohammad Kaif suggested that the young cricketers not do the same
Like Salman Ali Agha, many cricket experts also felt that the act done by Mehidy Hasan Miraz damaged the spirit of the game. Sharing the run-out video, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) uses the caption, "Crucial moment! Mehidy Hasan Miraz removes Salman Agha with a brilliant run-out." For Mohammad Kaif, "Sports without fair play are no sports".
"This is so not done. No desperation to get wickets can justify this runout. That too from a captain. Youngsters, please remember, even if the World Cup final is on the line never do what the Bangladesh skipper did. Sports without fair play is no sports", the former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif wrote in his reaction.

Pakistan won, Bangladesh 114/10
The batter had to walk off after scoring 64 runs in 62 balls with nine boundaries, including seven 4s and two 6s. Pakistan, batting first, registered 274 runs. The rain-stripped match eventually came to an end through the DLS method. Bangladesh, the home team, lost all of their wickets for only 114 runs. In the run chase, Miraz was dismissed for only 1 run.
The third of the three-match series, which will be held on March 15, will decide the winner of the bilateral contest as the series is level 1-1 after two games.
Another former cricketer, Pakistan's Mohammad Amir, also expressed his anger over the controversial incident. Amir accused the umpires of making Agha run out.
"Agha even tried to offer help, and Miraz took that chance and ran him out. Maybe it was within the rules, but was it in the spirit of cricket? No. As a leader, you shouldn’t use such tactics just to get a wicket. My question again is for the umpires, why didn’t they notice it and give the benefit to the batter?" Amir raised the question.
