India National Cricket Team fast bowler Mohammed Siraj will be getting the much-desired rest after the hectic Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. As per the reports in RevSportz, it is learned that the fast bowler will be given rest for the England T20Is.
India National Cricket Team are all set to host England National Cricket Team in the white-ball tour. The two teams will be locking horns with each other in the five-match T20I series followed by the three-match ODI series, which will be the only series ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Mohammed Siraj will be playing a three-match ODI series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Mohammed Siraj, who bowled tirelessly in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, will be rested for the T20Is. But the reports in RevSportz claimed that the fast bowler will be there for the three-match ODI series against the England National Cricket Team and then the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Mohammed Siraj gave his all with the ball in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and bowled over 157 overs in the series. The fast bowler picked 20 wickets in the series and played all 5 games. He bowled the most number of overs in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
The rest will be much needed for Mohammed Siraj, as the pacer has been bowling continuously for the last few months. The team management would want him to be extremely fit as he will be playing a crucial role for the team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Yashasvi Jaiswal to be picked as a backup opener for ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to be announced in the coming week. It is learned that Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is yet to make his debut in ODIs, will be part of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as a backup opener to Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.
Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer will be there in the middle over, and the reports added that there is a fight for place between KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant. Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav are expected to form the spin trio while Washington Sundar is also likely to play a part in the team.
Arshdeep Singh in contention to make it into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, too, is in contention to make it into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad. The fast bowler, who was India's leading wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2024, has been in great form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 and is leading the charts there as well.
The selection committee has also kept eyes on Varun Chakravarthy as well but there isn't any clarity if he will make it into the squad or not. There are also chances that Nitish Kumar Reddy will travel with the team as a cover for Hardik Pandya.
