Mohsin Naqvi butchers Babar Azam & other Pakistan players after humiliation vs India

India vs Pakistan 2026 T20 World Cup match has ended, once again in favour of the Men in Blue. Salman Ali Agha’s side were handed a thumping 61-run defeat at the R Premedasa Stadium, Colombo. Pakistan Cricket Board chairman and the interior Minister of Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi, who was present last Sunday, left the ground even before the game ended.

The PTI captured footage of Mohsin Naqvi leaving the ground early. It has been reported that Mohsin Naqvi was vexed by the poor performance of the Pakistan team against their arch-rivals. After weeks of drama from the PCB over boycotting the India vs Pakistan match, then taking a U-turn, a performance like this has made things turn even worse for them.

Mohsin Naqvi expresses his 'displeasure' with the Pakistan team

As per PTI’s source, Mohsin Naqvi expressed his "displeasure" to team manager Naved Akram Cheema following Pakistan's disastrous batting performance. "The Chairman left the match early at the Premadasa Stadium as it became obvious Pakistan were going to face another defeat to India."

As per reports from a senior PCB official, Mohsin Naqvi also said to Cheema that the performance against the Men in Blue was "not understandable or acceptable." The report further stated that the team management has been furious with the players, and head coach Mike Hesson slammed the players for not playing to their full potential against Suryakumar Yadav’s men.

Pakistan to make changes in Namibia game?

As per the reports from the source, the Men in Green will make some changes to their final game against Namibia, which, after losing against India, has turned into a potential knockout. If Pakistan fails to win this game on Wednesday, they will be out of the group stages of the T20 World Cup in consecutive editions.

The source said, "Late at night, the management think tank decided enough was enough and that it would bench Babar and Shaheen, and try Salman Mirza/Naseem Shah and Fakhar Zaman against Namibia on Wednesday."

The source also said that if the Men in Green make any changes in their final Group A match, Babar and Shaheen’s T20 World Cup campaign in this edition could come to an end. The management has been keen to try out young Khawaja Nafay in the middle order.

Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi's career over?

The form and strike rate of Babar Azam in T20 cricket have been called into question, as he has failed so far in the T20 World Cup. He has just scored one 40-plus score in the second game against the USA. In the first game, he was out cheaply after scoring 15 off 18 balls, and against India, he scored 5 off 7 balls.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, since his return from the knee injury has not been at his very best. In this World Cup, he has gone for runs whether in the opening overs or in the death overs. In the game against India, he was smashed for 31 runs in two overs that he bowled. He has picked up three wickets in three games and has an economy of 11.22.
