Shoaib Akhtar looked furious in a live television debate when he was asked how to rescue the team from the mud, where they have been stuck for a long time now. The former Pakistan pacer explained that the team has the required resources, which are mostly used in the wrong way.
Showing his full support to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Akhtar believed Mohsin Naqvi is the last hope for the team. According to him, only Naqvi has the potential and power to translate all the efforts into a trophy-winning moment.

The Pakistan legend out and out showed his support for Mohsin Naqvi. According to Akhtar, after General Tokir Zia, Naqvi is the most powerful chairman. He has everything to shape a team to conquer the tournaments. But for some reason, the results are not coming according to expectations. For the repeated failures, Akhtar pointed out the cricket board.
"Look, I'm all for Mohsin Naqvi, right? I think he's a great guy. He must be a great guy. Whatever I heard of him, I think he's a great guy. But what is he doing? Look, the powerful chairman... After General Tokir Zia, I think Mohsin Naqvi is the most powerful chairman. Okay?", Shoaib Akhtar said.
"His positioning is very good. He has the resources. He has the power. If he can't build his management, and you're losing the qualifiers in 4 tournaments. So, I'm telling you, there is something seriously wrong within the board", he further added.

The ex-cricketer strongly believes that Mohsin Naqvi is surrounded by the wrong group of people on the board. Naqvi, who may not know much about cricket, is receiving wrong inputs from some of the PCB officials, only to look bad. Akhtar emphasizes that Naqvi is the last hope for Pakistan cricket.
"I understand he doesn't know much about cricket. And I get that. But he wants to do well. But is he asking for the right help? No, he's not. Again, my request to the chairman is... Sir, please try to understand", Shoaib Akhtar stated.
