Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan played a monumental knock of 171* runs off 239 balls in the ongoing first Test, showing a masterclass of resilience and skill, against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Rizwan’s unbeaten knock not only helped Pakistan to declare their first innings at 448/6 against Bangladesh but also highlighted the keeper’s class. Facing a disciplined Bangladeshi bowling attack, Rizwan displayed remarkable composure and concentration.

The PCB boss praised Rizwan for his invaluable contribution to Pakistan's massive total on the board against the Tigers in Rawalpindi.

Naqvi commended Rizwan for yet again proving himself a valuable asset to Pakistan’s Test team, describing his exceptional batting show as a delight to watch in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh.

Mohammad Rizwan sets new record with career-best 171 in Rawalpindi Test

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan achieved a significant milestone by scoring his third Test century and his first in nearly 890 days, with a career-best unbeaten 171 off 239 balls against Bangladesh. This remarkable innings also set a new record for the highest score by a number six batter in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) history.

Additionally, Rizwan surpassed Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant's previous record for the highest score by a wicketkeeper in the WTC.

Pant's 141-run innings against England in 2022 were surpassed by Rizwan, who has now become the first wicketkeeper to score 150+ runs in WTC records.
