'Most cowardly team I've ever seen' - Imran Nazir blasts Babar Azam's Pakistan for T20 World Cup horror show

Former Pakistan opener Imran Nazir thrashed the Babar Azam-led Pakistani team for their shambolic performances in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Pakistan are currently on the verge of being knocked out of the ICC T20 WC 2024 from the group stages itself. It will be for the first time in the last two editions in 2021 and 2022 that the Men in Green are in such a situation. Babar Azam and co. have fallen down dramatically after reaching the last stages of the T20 World Cup in the previous editions.
During the 2021 edition in UAE, Pakistan lost to Australia in the semis, and in 2022, the Men in Green became runners-up after losing to England. This time around, they are not even looking any close to getting past the group stages, let alone the semi-finals. Back-to-back losses to the USA and India have made the scenario much more difficult for them to qualify for the Super Eights.
Pakistan's only victory came 2 days ago against Canada and their last match against Ireland should be won by a heavy margin for any chances to the Super Eight. Babar Azam and Co. will also be hoping for the USA to lose against Ireland. Amid their poor performances, many former cricketers have expressed their disappointment.
From Ahmed Shehzad to Wasim Akram, everyone has bashed Pakistan for their poor display in this T20 World Cup and Imran Nazir has become the latest to thrash them.
What did Imran Nazir say about Pakistan's situation?
While speaking on a local Pakistani channel, Imran Nazir literally bashed the Babar Azam-led team for their lack of clarity, which is affecting their gameplay. Nazir admitted that he had never seen a more cowardly cricket team than this Pakistan team and claimed that the players are all about making excuses.
"I am sorry, but I am compelled to say that cricket is a game of the fearless. I haven't witnessed anyone as cowardly as this team. I frequently discuss what new excuse they will be concocting now. There are no excuses in cricket. Irrespective of the pitch or conditions you are encountering, you are obligated to play," Imran Nazir said.
Nazir disrespects Naseem, Shaheen, and Haris
Imran Nazir went on to further add that the current Pakistani team doesn't have a capable bowling line-up or a batting line-up. Nazir highlighted the lack of middle-order batters in the team who have the ability to rotate the strike. In such a case, Nazir asked how people expect them to win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
He then took a cryptic dig at the likes of Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Afridi by claiming that Pakistan doesn't have good bowlers.
"In a team where there's no middle-order batter who can rotate the strike, how can you anticipate that team to win the World Cup? This team failed to score 40 runs, despite having eight batters. First, ascertain what you possess. You neither have proficient batters nor adept bowlers, nothing," Imran Nazir concluded.
