Legendary India captain MS Dhoni has been issued a notice by the Jharkhand high court in a business-related case filed by his former business partners Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Das. The former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain has also been asked to appear in front of the Jharkhand High Court.
Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Das are the directors of Aarka Sports and Management Ltd. They had an agreement with MS Dhoni to prepare cricket academies under the veteran cricketer's name in 2017.

Jharkhand High Court issues notice to MS Dhoni
Diwakar and Das have moved to the high court after Dhoni filed a case against them for wrongly using his name and not sharing the profits. Both of them have challenged the cognizance taken against them by the judicial magistrate in Ranchi.
As a result, MS Dhoni has been directed by the Jharkhand High Court to appear in the court and explain his stand. The matter has been going on for years now. After finding out about the cheating, Dhoni filed a complaint against his former partners on January 5.
What is the dispute all about?
There was a legal dispute between the two parties after Dhoni filed a case against Diwakar and Das regarding the profit-related matters. Diwakar is believed to be unable to adhere to some of the specified conditions mentioned in the agreement.
The agreement says that Aarka Sports had an obligation to pay a specific amount of fees to MS Dhoni and share the profits. However, the company was unable to do so. As a result, the terms and conditions were not followed, after which Dhoni was compelled to revoke the authority granted to Aarka Sports.
Despite sending various legal notices, Dhoni did not get any response and decided to file a case. In March 2024, a civil court in Ranchi summoned Mihir Diwakar, Souya Das, and Aarka Management Ltd. after confirming that the case is a correct one.
After Dhoni decided to revoke the agreement in 2021, his name was still used by the company but there was no share of any profit to him. Dhoni is believed to have suffered a loss of INR 15 crore due to this situation.
MS Dhoni in IPL 2025
MS Dhoni is still an active cricketer despite having retired from international cricket way back in 2020. His last international match was the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, which India lost heartbreakingly.
He is currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Even after his international retirement, Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings to two IPL titles (in 2021 and 2023). Before IPL 2024, he handed over CSK's captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad, who led the team in the last season.
Recently, Dhoni was one of the five players retained by Chennai Super Kings. He was retained for INR 4 crore by CSK under the uncapped players category according to the new IPL rule. The former India captain even claimed that he wants to enjoy cricket in the upcoming years without thinking about retirement.
