Mumbai All-Rounder Shivam Dube Tests COVID-19 Positive Ahead Of Ranji Trophy 2022

Mumbai cricket team all-rounder Shivam Dube and team’s video analyst Ganesh Tyagi have tested positive for COVID-19.
The 28-year-old lanky all-rounder is part of the 20-member Mumbai squad for the Ranji Trophy. Sairaj Patil has been named a replacement for Dube in the Mumbai team.

“Yes, the two have tested positive for COVID19 and Sairaj Patil has been named as Dube’s replacement,” a source told news agency PTI on Monday.
Shivam Dube has played 16 FC matches for Mumbai
Dube has played 13 T20 International matches and a solitary ODI match for India, his last appearance in the Indian shirt was made against New Zealand in February 2020.
Dube has accumulated 1012 runs from 16 First-Class matches and was also part of the Mumbai team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw will lead the 20-member squad, that was announced by the state association for the first two matches against Maharashtra and Delhi.
Legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar received his maiden call-up for the Mumbai team for the Ranji Trophy.
Mumbai are placed in the Elite C group for the Ranji Trophy 2022 season alongside Maharashtra, Delhi, Hyderabad, Karnataka and Uttarakhand.
Mumbai will kick off their Ranji Trophy campaign on January 13 as they face their counterpart Maharashtra in their first match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Saturday decided to postpone all its local cricket tournaments due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the city.
