Mushfiqur Rahim Opens Up On His Omission From T20 Squad, Feels The BCB Selectors Should Have Been More 'Clear'

Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim reckoned that he did not find much clarity on his omission from the T20I squad against Pakistan and wanted the selectors to be more appropriate. Mushfiqur Rahim’s name was missing from the T20I squad for the first time since 2008, and it certainly surprised a whole lot of cricketers.
The selectors did go on to clear the air on the reasons stating that Rahim is rested considering the four tests coming up. However, Rahim wasn’t pleased with the way the information was conveyed to him or in the media and wanted a clear picture of any decision they would like to take.
The 34-year-old is an important batsman in the Bangladesh lineup, and he did not have the best of the T20 World cup as well.

“Everyone Should Be Judged By Performance” – Mushfiqur Rahim
Mushfiqur Rahim mentioned that he must have known it clearly even if he is dropped from the side and was willing to take it for the team’s cause. He added that he wanted the selectors to be more honest with him and wanted them to make decisions on performance and fitness.
“Certainly [they should say that I am dropped] because everyone should say the truth because nothing is bigger than the team, and I am just an ordinary member.
“The performance goes up and down, and everyone should be judged by performance and fitness. They could have easily said that we are thinking something else and not considering you in this series and if you can perform then,” Mushfiqur Rahim told as per quoted on Cricbuzz.

Mushfiqur Rahim Feels He Could Have Planned Accordingly If The Selectors Were Clear
Mushfiqur Rahim mentioned that he would feel a lot more respectful if he had been informed to take a break citing the four tests coming up. He added that he would have had plans accordingly if he was informed earlier and noted that he will feel tough now to prepare for tests.
“If they had said it like this, then I would have felt it much better that at least they have shown some respect. If they were thinking of the upcoming four-Test matches, then they could have said that then. Before the World Cup, they could have said that “we have four Test matches, and you can take a break.
“It would have been appropriate because I would be mentally ready and could have taken my preparation accordingly and perhaps could have made plans differently like could have played two rounds of NCL but they informed so late that I cannot make any preparation plans for the Tests,” Rahim added.
