The Namibia National Cricket Team will be up against the South Africa National Cricket Team and the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team for a tri-series at the Namibia Cricket Ground. Ahead of the series, they have announced their squad for the forthcoming series. Gerhard Erasmus will be leading the side in the series; this is a big series for the side.
The FNB T20 Tri-Series, set to take place from 28 August to 6 September 2026 in Windhoek, will be followed by three ODI’s between the Eagles and the Proteas side. The ODI series will also be the preparation for the forthcoming event, which is the ODI World Cup 2027, which is scheduled to take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Namibia announce experienced squad for Tri-series
Some experienced players like Ruben Trumpelmann and JJ Smit are in the squad alongside Erasmus. Michael van Lingen returns to the T20I squad after two years. They had a poor T20 World Cup 2026 as they lost all four matches in the tournament. In a game against India, the captain picked 4 wickets and bowled amazingly.

Previously, the Cricket Namibia CEO Johan Muller had thanked Cricket South Africa and Zimbabwe Cricket for agreeing to this series. He stated that this showcases the strong relationship that the nation shares with them. He also thanked FNB, who are the sponsors for this series and for the Eagles as well.
