Navdeep Saini Ruled Out Of India A Series Against New Zealand A

India A has suffered a huge blow as Navdeep Saini is out of India A series against New Zealand. The speedster suffered a groin injury on Day 1 of the Duleep Trophy Semi-Final match between North Zone and South Zone. Indian Cricket Team has been blessed with a strong bunch of fast bowlers which is quite unlike the old times when the Indian team was famous for batters.

BCCI on Friday (16th September) announced India A squad against New Zealand A ODI Series and all these matches are going to be played in Chennai. The ODI Series is going to commence on 22nd September which promises to be an exciting contest as the skipper for the ODI Series is Sanju Samson; a lot of fans had criticized his omission from T20 World Cup 2022.

“Navdeep Saini sustained a right groin injury on Day 1 of the Duleep Trophy semi-final match between North Zone and South Zone. He is ruled out of the ongoing tournament and also from the upcoming three-match one-day series between India A and New Zealand A. Saini will now head to the NCA for further management of his injury,” BCCI released an official statement regarding Navdeep Saini’s injury.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Rishi Dhawan as Saini’s replacement in India A squad,” it added.

Navdeep Saini an Exciting Prospect

The right-arm speedster has played all the 3 formats and his peculiarity is that he has express pace. The pacer has played 11 T20Is and taken 13 wickets. The 29-year-old fast bowler is known for his Yorkers. The selection committee would be keenly watching him as he can be a force to reckon with in Overseas conditions.

Navdeep Saini was a part of the historic Border- Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. He didn’t have that much impact with the ball in hand but he took 4 wickets in 2 test matches. The bowler is quite new to the International Arena and he would be eager to make a mark when given a chance by Selection Panel.
