New Zealand Men and Women Cricketers To Receive Same Pay: Collaborative Yet Very Robust Negotiation, Says NZC Chief

Following a historic deal reached by New Zealand Cricket (NZC), six major associations, and the New Zealand Cricket Players Association, both men’s and women’s cricketers in New Zealand will be paid equally for doing the same amount of work.
Women’s players, including domestic cricketers, will now be paid the same match fees as their male counterparts across all formats and events for the first time under a five-year agreement.

“The improved pay and conditions are part of an agreement calculated on the country’s men’s and women’s professional players receiving 29.75 percent of all NZC forecast revenue over five years (USD 349 m), expected to amount to USD 104m,” NZC said in a statement.
NZC chief David White said: “This is the most important agreement in our sport, as it binds NZC, the Major Associations, and our players at the hip, and sets the foundation to fund, grow and develop cricket. It’s been a collaborative yet very robust negotiation.”
This implies that the highest-ranked New Zealand women’s player may earn up to USD 163,246 per year (an increase from USD 83,432), the ninth-ranked could earn up to USD 148,946 (an increase from USD 66,266), and the 17th-ranked could earn up to USD 142,346. (USD 62,833).
The top domestic women’s players in each Major Association would be eligible to receive a maximum of USD 19,146 (an increase from USD 3,423), and the sixth-ranked player USD 18,646 (an increase from USD 3,423), and the 12th-ranked player USD 18,146. (an increase from USD 3,423). In accordance with the agreement, there are now 72 domestic contracts for women, an increase from 54.
New Zealand Men To Get Benefit Of Playing More Games
The match payments for New Zealand men’s players will be the same as for women, but because they play in more matches, in more forms, and for more extended periods of time, they will get greater retainers.
The top-ranked male player may now get up to USD 523,396 (up from USD 459,574), and the tenth-ranked player can now receive up to USD 444,196 (up from USD 377,981), and the twenty-ranked player can now receive up to USD 367,196 (up from USD 305,453).
Additionally, the eighth-ranked domestic men’s player would be eligible for a maximum of USD 87,307 (up from USD 77,357), the 16th-ranked USD 75,207 (up from USD 64,406), and the highest-ranked USD 102,707 (up from USD 94,437). .
