Yashasvi Jaiswal has been a revelation for India at the top of the order in Test cricket. He scored his second century in Test cricket in the ongoing second Test against England at Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam. He has played some terrific cricket as he completed his century in 151 deliveries. It was an eye-catching moment as he completed his century with a gigantic six off Shoaib Bashir’s delivery.

Yashasvi Jaiswal played some brilliant cricket and stabilized the Indian innings after they lost the likes of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill right before lunch. He then partnered with Shreyas Iyer and debutant Rajat Patidar to build the innings further in the day. Jaiswal stitched a 90-run stand with Shreyas Iyer for the third wicket and then added 70 runs for the fourth wicket with Rajat Patidar.

Twitter erupted after Yashasvi Jaiswal crossed his century on the first day of the second Test at Vishakhapatnam. India has already reached the 250-run mark, credit to the innings played by Yashasvi Jaiswal. One of his posts from the past is going viral all of a sudden because of Rohit Sharma’s comment on that post. It was posted three years back when Yashasvi Jaiswal was a 19-year-old prodigy.

Yashasvi Jaiswal posted about his Vijay Hazare Trophy knock on which the Indian skipper commented “Next Superstar”. Now all of a sudden that post is going viral because of Jaiswal’s beautiful innings against England. However, Rohit Sharma departed early after scoring just 14 runs off debutant Shoaib Bashir’s delivery. Sharma and Jaiswal made a 40-run opening stand before Rohit departed.

Yashasvi Jaiswal reached 150 off 224 deliveries smashing 16 fours and four sixes in his innings. Both of his centuries have yielded more than 150 runs for him. The first century from his bat came against the West Indies in July 2023 on his debut game. He smashed 171 against the West Indies in his debut innings in Test cricket and now has again crossed 150 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 80 in the first innings during the Hyderabad Test and now has scored over 150 in the first innings in Vishakhapatnam.

India won the toss and elected to bat first making three changes in their XI as Rajat Patidar made his debut replacing injured KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav came in for Ravindra Jadeja who suffered a hamstring injury in the first Test and Mukesh Kumar came in for Mohammed Siraj. Yashasvi Jaiswal has played some brilliant cricket in this series and is continuing his form from the first Test where he smashed 80 in the first innings and now is going forward with the same intent.

India has not lost a home Test series since 2012 when they were last defeated by England. The hosts have won 16 consecutive Test series at home after the 2-1 defeat against England in 2012. India lost the first Test at Hyderabad by 28 runs and are now looking to level the score in Vizag.
