Nitish Kumar Reddy delivered a fabulous all-round performance to contribute significantly to India’s T20I series-clinching 86-run win over Bangladesh in the second T20I at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 9.
Playing his only second international match, Reddy was honored with the Player of the Match award for his remarkable display with both bat and ball in the second game of the ongoing three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.

The right-handed batter played a wonderful knock of 74 runs off just 34 balls, hitting the Bangladesh bowlers all over the ground for four boundaries and six maximums in Delhi. His runs came at an amazing strike rate of nearly 218.
He also stitched a match-winning partnership of 108 runs for the fourth wicket to take India to a formidable total of 221/9 on the board against the Bangladesh cricket team at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Defending the daunting target, Reddy also contributed with the ball in the second T20I. The young pacer had a memorable outing with the ball, as he finished with brilliant figures of 2/23 in his four overs to help Team India restrict Bangladesh to 135/9 to win the game by 86 runs in Delhi.
With this dominant win in the second T20I, the Men in Blue clinched the ongoing three-match T20I series by taking an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the home series against Bangladesh, with the final game scheduled for October 12 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy said that winning the Player of the Match award was a proud moment in his young career. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent the country at the highest level and credited his captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir for allowing him to play with fearless intent.
The young all-rounder said that Suryakumar and Gambhir’s support allowed him to approach the game with confidence, taking the pressure off and letting his instincts shine through. Reddy said that he initially took his time to settle in, but after a no-ball, the momentum shifted in his favor.
