No One Even Applauded Me After Scoring A 50- Prithvi Shaw On Significance Of Big Scores Ahead Of The Ranji Trophy Final In 2022

Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy team, captained by Prithvi Shaw, has been absolutely dominant. The 22-year-old captain has played in five games, but he has only managed three half-centuries, demonstrating his inconsistent performance.
Mumbai has long been known for its “khadoos” batting, where players play extended innings to wear out their opponents and place a high value on their wickets. This season, however, Shaw has not been able to do that.
However, Prithvi Shaw said in a press conference on the day of the championship game that he is not too worried about his own form because the squad’s cause is his first concern. He said,
“I have a few (three) the 50s, but it is definitely not enough for me, and no one even praised me when I got a 50, so that makes you feel horrible as well (jokingly). Though it does occasionally occur, I am happy with how my team is doing. I have to consider all 21 of the guys I have here as a captain, not just myself.”
‘I want to ensure that my team is doing fine’: Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw has seen several ups and downs in his game despite only being 22 years old. He scored a Test century on his India debut but was also benched following a disastrous performance in the pink-ball match in Australia.
“The graph never stays up; it always goes up and down in both cricket and life. So it is just a matter of time before I start centering those balls and scoring huge runs once more. However, at this moment, I want to make sure that my squad is doing well and enjoying the game.”
In the Ranji Trophy final, Mumbai will play Madhya Pradesh and try to win a record-extending 42nd trophy.
