'No Reason' For India And Pakistan Not To Meet - Ramiz Raja

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are involved in a verbal spat. Earlier BCCI Secretary and ACC (Asian Cricket Council) President Jay Shah made it clear that the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 won’t take place in Pakistan. Then PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja threatened to boycott the 2023 World Cup.
During all this chaos, there is uncertainty looming around the next year’s Word Cup. India & Pakistan are considered to be the two giants of World Cricket and their rivalry is getting bigger. It looks unlikely that BCCI’s stance would change as they have said that sending a team to Pakistan is completely Government’s decision and as we all know both nations don’t have promising relations.

Ramiz Raja on India
Ramiz Raja was having an interaction with Test Match Special and made interesting remarks on India. “Both boards need to come to terms whether we want to play each other or not. Pakistan is willing, but they quote political interference. You can’t work when there is political interference,” said Ramiz Raja.
“They quote the government doesn’t allow it, so that kills the debate. There is no reason why India couldn’t come to Pakistan and Pakistan go to India,” he added.
Great Rivalry
In recent years, the India vs Pakistan rivalry has changed the face of World Cricket. International Cricket Council (ICC) would be hoping that both the boards sort out the issue quickly. PCB has not hosted Asia Cup since 2008 are quite keen to host the Championship as this tournament would serve stepping stone for the World Cup.
PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja so far has done a terrific job. Pakistan has been awarded the hosting rights of the 2025 Champions Trophy and slowly teams are visiting Pakistan. Ramiz Raja will try his best as in one of his interviews he had said that hosting Asia Cup 2023 is quite vital for the fans and for Pakistan’s economy.
