Australian Cricket Team managed to score a mammoth 598-4. Australia’s two-star batters; Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne struck double centuries and dominated the terms against a powerful West Indies attack. The bowlers toiled a lot but were not consistent in their line and length.

Skipper Kraigg Braithwaite rolled his arm too and surprisingly took 2 wickets. The pitch had a lively tinge of grass present, the batters showed great application. Steven Smith silenced all the noise and made a statement that he is not done yet as the batter now has 29 centuries to his name and has leveled  Don Bradman’s tally of 29 tons.

Questionable Captaincy by Kraigg Braithwaite

The skipper made a huge mistake by not giving Jason Holder long spells as he is someone who takes time to hit the perfect line and length. The decision to give Kyle Mayers the ball ahead of Holder didn’t work well. There were high hopes from Kemar Roach to lead the attack but wasn’t able to provide break-throughs to the team. It won’t be wrong to say but it looked that Caribbean bowlers were not ready for the steep challenge.

The peculiarity of Australia’s innings was that they rotated the strike on a consistent basis and never allowed any bowler to settle down. Aussies would be worried about the form of David Warner who was out cheaply.

The left-handed batter played a shot too many and would be dejected as he has the knack of taking the game away. Australia would be aiming for a massive victory as they have got a lethal pace attack which can dismantle any opposition on a given day.
