No Rohit Sharma Or Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur Axed Too: India’s New Confirmed ODI Setup If Ajit Agarkar Becomes Chairman Of Selectors. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are in looking for a new chief selector. The governing body has been without the chairman of selectors since February.
Chetan Sharma gave his resignation from the post after his sting operation. He revealed quite a few things about the team and was under the scanner following which he gave his resignation letter.
The governing body recently invited applications for the chief selector and as per the various reports former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar is most likely to take the charge.
If he gets the position, it’s a no-brainer that we might see some changes in the teams, particularly the ODI team. The seniors might get sidelined and we might see some fresh faces as well.

No Rohit Sharma Or Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur Axed Too: India’s New Confirmed ODI Setup If Ajit Agarkar Becomes Chairman Of Selectors
Openers – Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad
The new-Look ODI Squad If Ajit Agarkar Becomes Chief Selector might see skipper Rohit Sharma getting snubbed from the side and youngsters taking the charge.
It’s fair to say that Shubman Gill has locked his spot in the team and no one is replacing him for at least a decade. In such a short span of time, he has ODI double hundred as well and has been scoring truckloads of runs at the top.

On the other hand, Ishan Kishan too has looked home in the ODIs while opening the innings. He too has smashed a double hundred in this format and his attacking game at the top has taken the team off the flyer in many games.
Also, with him being there it allows the team to have the right-left combination. Apart from him, Ruturaj Gaikwad too has come into the scene after his prolific run in the domestic circuit. He’s expected to be the third opener on the team.

Middle Order – Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson (wk), Suryakumar Yadav
The middle order of the new-look Indian team under Ajit Agarkar might look the same as familiar names are expected to be there for a while. Virat Kohli has been the best batter in this format and with the kind of fitness he possesses, it’s fair to say that he can continue for the next 6-7 years.
Along with him, Shreyas Iyer has locked the No.4 spot. It’s fair to say that he has solved India’s problem in the middle order as he has been scoring runs consistently while batting in the middle and also has bailed the team out of trouble many times and has single-handedly won matches for the team.
Sanju Samson hasn’t been given a consistent run in the team despite scoring runs in the limited opportunities he has got. The keeper-batter is rated very highly and his ability to strike the ball cleanly might help the team to finish the innings on high.
Apart from him, Suryakumar Yadav is also likely to be part of the squad as he can be used as a floater by the team.
All-rounders – Hardik Pandya (C), Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel
Hardik Pandya is likely to take charge of the white-ball captaincy and play a crucial role for India. He has been India’s best all-rounder and also has proven his worth as a leader as well. He along with Ravindra Jadeja is expected to be the lynchpin of the Indian team with both bat and ball.
The duo has been fantastic for the team for the last few years and is likely to hold the fort for some more years. Apart from these two, Axar Patel has risen in the ranks as well. With the kind of performance he has exhibited with both bat and ball in the last few months, it would be hard to leave him out as well.
Spinners – Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi
India’s New-Look ODI Squad If Ajit Agarkar Becomes Chief Selector might see Yuzvendra Chahal getting dropped from the team and Ravi Bishnoi making the cut.
Chahal of late has been one of the biggest disappointments for India as he has failed to take wickets and also stop the runs. Therefore they might be looking to move ahead and give Bishnoi a chance.
On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav has found his mojo back and has been at his best. He has become a genuine wicket-taker for India and has tilted the game many times in the favor of his side. His unique ability to bowl left-arm leg spin can put opponents under pressure.
Fast bowlers – Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik Jasprit Bumrah
The pace battery might see Mohammed Shami getting dropped because of late he has been not living up to the expectations in the white-ball.
He might be replaced with Umran Malik, who is the fastest bowler in India. He has been the strike bowler for India and has chipped in with the wickets at regular intervals.
Along with him, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are likely to be two pacers in the team for a while. While Siraj has filled in the shoes of Jasprit Bumrah in his absence.
He has looked threatening in the format and is currently the best Indian pacer going around. Bumrah, who has been out of action for a while due to injury, is likely to make a comeback soon and take the chargeback.
