Notably, Rohit and Kohli retired from T20I cricket after winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies last month. Jaiswal acknowledged their incredible impact on Team India and described being part of their dressing room as a blessing.

Despite the long road ahead in his career, the left-handed batter has expressed excitement and determination to fill in the void left by Kohli and Rohit’s retirement from T20I cricket. Yashasvi stressed that he is focusing on his process and striving to contribute to India's success in the future.

Yashasvi Jaiswal said at the post-match press conference: “I think what they have done for Indian cricket is just incredible. And being a part of that dressing room, I think it's been a blessing. And I think we (I and Shubman Gill) are just trying, and at least we are trying match by match, one day at a time, and we'll try our best.”

The young Indian opener added, “I'm trying my best every single time I go. And I'll focus on my process; I have a long way to go. I have just started my career. I think I'm really excited. Let's see what will happen. I want to do my best for India and win the World Cup for India.”

Notably, Gill and Jaiswal have batted together seven times as openers in T20I cricket and scored 429 runs at an average of 71.50, with two century stands. Jaiswal played an amazing knock of 93 runs on 53 balls during Team India’s 10-wicket win over Zimbabwe in the ongoing T20I series on July 13.

And of course, I go and try and execute on the ground, try to express myself, and enjoy the game. I always back my instinct, back myself, my shots, and my plans, and I will keep believing that.”

Reflecting on India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph and celebration in India, the 22-year-old said that he enjoyed the title win a lot, and he is really grateful and blessed to be a part of the world champion T20 team.
