Not Josh Hazlewood! Rajat Patidar reveals who RCB's main bowler is after win vs CSK

In the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hosted the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday, May 3.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the high-profile IPL 2025 match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 2 runs at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Being invited to bat first in the match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a huge score of 213/5 on the board after a few hiccups as Romario Shepherd slammed a 14-ball half-century. Other than him, Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli hit brilliant half-centuries.
Defending the total, RCB bowlers did a great job and took the game deep before Yash Dayal bowled a terrific last over to help RCB seal the win. Lungi Ngidi picked three wickets while Yash Dayal and Krunal Pandya got one wicket each as RCB restricted CSK to 211/5.
During the post-match presentation ceremony, Rajat Patidar showered rich praise on his batters and bowlers. He said:
"It was a tight game but credit goes to the batsmen the way they batted. The way the bowlers shown the courage, it was tremendous."

Rajat Patidar further said that the left-arm pacer and death specialist, Yash Dayal, is the main bowler of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025. Rajat Patidar stated:
"(On Yash) He is a main bowler of the team, he is a death specialist, it was a clear-cut thought to give the last over to Yash. Last year also he did well and I'm happy for him. I had confidence in Suyash also till now he has been howling good overs for RCB. That decision was 50-50 but I backed my bowler and he came good."
In the end, Rajat Patidar lauded Romario Shepherd for his explosive half-century and Lungi Ngidi for his brilliant bowling. He said:
"(On Shepherd) Not easy to go straightaway to hit those big sixes, he has the power and the skill. I'm enjoying his long sixes. (On Ngidi) He is quite an experienced bowler and has played a lot of white-ball cricket and I have confidence in him. It's a positive to be on top, We are not aiming for the qualification, three matches are more crucial and we will try out best in all the three matches. (on if they will party tonight) Thoda sa but last main karenge [will party a little bit but at the end]."
RCB won the previous IPL match against CSK
Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a dominant all-round performance to crush Chennai Super Kings by 50 runs at Chepauk on March 28, 2025.
Being invited to bat first in the match, RCB made the most of the first few overs, with Phil Salt slamming a blazing 32 runs off 16 balls and Devdutt Padikkal smashing a quickfire 27 runs off 14 balls.
Virat Kohli played a slow knock of 31 runs but captain Rajat Patidar played a brilliant innings of 51 runs off 32 balls. In the end, Tim David showcased his batting prowess with an unbeaten 22 off just 8 balls to push RCB to a strong total of 196/7.
While defending the score, RC bowlers struck early, with Josh Hazlewood dismantling CSK’s top order. He removed Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the same over, finishing with brilliant figures of 3/21. Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone complemented him well, picking up two wickets each.
RCB bowlers made sure that they always had momentum on their side, and despite MS Dhoni’s late fireworks, they managed to restrict Chennai Super Kings to 146/8 in 20 overs.
