Not Rishabh Pant!! List of players set to be released by Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL Mega Auction 2025

Delhi Capitals is one of the few IPL teams who have not won any title so far. Led by Rishabh Pant for the last few years, Delhi Capitals have dominated in IPL but have failed to make it to playoffs.

Now, they will make many changes to their squad ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Last season, DC gave an average show. Out of 14 games, they won 7 games and lost 7. They finished in the 6th spot in the points table and failed to reach playoffs.

In the 2024 season, Rishabh Pant returned to the side after recovering from injury. His arrival was a big boost for the team as he faced a severe car accident that kept him out of the field for almost 14 months. DC has struggled to reach playoffs for the last few seasons and now they need to come up with a powerful show in IPL 2025.

3. Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw has been part of the Delhi Capitals for a long time. However, the opening batsman has struggled with a consistent show in the Indian Premier League for the last few seasons.

For instance, the right-handed batsman added just 198 runs in 8 games in IPL 2024. Hence, DC might part ways with him and find a strong opening batter during the IPL 2025 auction.

2. David Warner

David Warner is another batsman whom Delhi Capitals can drop from their side ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Warner is almost at the end of his career and has already retired from Tests and ODIs. He might soon end his T20I career too.

The left-handed batsman played just 8 games in IPL 2024 and could only add 168 runs. DC needs strong openers in their squad and they might drop Warner from their side for the same.

1. Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma is also part of Delhi Capitals currently and the veteran pacer has done a decent job for the last few seasons. The right-arm pacer played 9 games in IPL 2024 and got 10 wickets at 9.81 economy.

Although he has a lot of might in his pace attack, DC needs more young pacers in their squad in IPL 2025 who can give a consistent show for the forthcoming seasons. Hence, DC can drop Sharma from their squad.
