Ravi Bishnoi has finally revealed the one batter who has given him sleepless nights, and he is his India teammate, who smashed him for four consecutive sixes during Match 61 of IPL 2025 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
The young Indian spinner admitted that the young explosive left-hander Abhishek Sharma is the toughest batter to bowl at for him. Bishnoi also hailed the SRH opener for his batting excellence, and his hammering in the IPL left him in awe of his talent.
Ravi Bishnoi names Abhishek Sharma as the toughest batter
Abhishek has turned into a nightmare for Bishnoi. Across all T20s, Abhishek has scored 37 runs off just 8 balls against Bishnoi at a mind-boggling strike rate of 462.5. The Punjab lad has already become India’s first-choice opener and one of the most feared young hitters in the T20s.
In just 17 T20 internationals, Abhishek Sharma has blasted 535 runs at an average of 33.43 and an astonishing strike rate of 193.84. He has two fifties and two blazing centuries to his name in the T20Is, and he is currently gearing up for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE.
Ravi Bishnoi said on the YouTube podcast Game Changers, “Right now, I think Abhishek Sharma is batting really well. Against him, I feel I need to bring something extra from my side. As a leg-spinner, I feel he plays me quite well. He has worked very hard in the off-season, and even now you can see him putting in the effort day in and day out. The way he is batting, I always think about how I can improve against him. I keep trying to figure out how I can get better when I bowl to such good batters.”
Ravi Bishnoi hails Yashasvi Jaiswal as a modern-day batting wonder
Meanwhile, the Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi also revealed what makes Yashasvi Jaiswal such a rare wonder in the modern era. The 24-year-old opener has already become one of India’s brightest stars, as Bishnoi recalled his teammate’s extraordinary journey.
Jaiswal first announced himself on the world stage during the 2020 U-19 World Cup, where he dominated bowling attacks with ruthless consistency. The left-handed batter scored 400 runs in just six innings at an astonishing average of 133.33. He also turned heads with four fifties and a commanding century, including against Pakistan in the tournament.
Bishnoi said that the way Jaiswal scores runs makes him “stand out.” The leg-spinner further mentioned that players only see him when Yashasvi bats, with no one else around him, and that is his “art.” He further noted that the Indian opener’s command over his game is excellent.
Yashasvi Jaiswal cannot settle for less: Ravi Bishnoi
Recalling his conversation with Yashasvi, Bishnoi said that the left-hander’s single-minded determination to extract the maximum out of every situation separates him from others.
He signed off by saying, “Once, in a conversation, he told me, ‘If I feel that 20 runs can be scored in this over, then I want 20 runs in it. I cannot compromise for less.’ That really impressed me. Even if 18 or 19 runs come, he insists, ‘No, no, I had said three boundaries, so there must be three.’ That shows his hunger, that he cannot settle for less. He wants the full thing that he feels is his.”
