Ishan Kishan’s brother Raj Kishan told that Ishan had expressed his emotions on the phone after the maiden Indian call-up and added that they couldn’t talk normally for 4 hours. The Jharkhand captain had scored a blistering 173 off just 94 balls in the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy and the same day, he received his maiden Indian team call-up. The Patna-born cricketer was the highest run-scorer for Mumbai Indians in the previous IPL edition.

Ishan Kishan scored 516 runs in 14 matches in the previous edition and became the mainstay for the Mumbai team in the batting order. He was surrounded by huge names like Rohit Sharma, Quinton De Kock, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah in the dressing room and his batting partner Suryakumar Yadav had also earned his place in the Indian squad for the 5 match T20 series against England.

The Emotions Were So High – Raj Kishan

Raj Kishan explained the events that happened after the news of his brother getting selected for the Indian team and added that the news was unbelievable which made him check twice on the BCCI website to confirm it. He described the emotions associated with the news and narrated the incident when the brothers had just cried their hearts out and not uttered a word for 4 hours.

“Felt really, really nice. We could not believe the news for a long time, we personally confirmed it on the BCCI site The emotions were so high that we were finding it hard to express ourselves. My mother and father are in Patna and I am in Nawada right now. There were tears of happiness.”

“Ishan called us and we started crying, only after 4 hours we could talk normally. We started crying as soon as he called us,” Raj Kishan said.

“I Want To See Him Win Matches For India” – Raj Kishan

Raj Kishan mentioned that Ishan Kishan was frustrated with not making the cut into the Indian team and expected to part of the test tour. He expressed his desire to see his brother win matches for India and hoped to see his name in the T20 WorldCup squad.

“Ishan was very happy. The wait for the national call-up was getting longer and he was frustrated as well. He was expecting to be picked in the Test squad also.”

“As a big brother I will like to see him make debut for India in all the formats, I want to see him win matches for India. I am also hoping to see his name in the T20 World Cup squad,” he added.
