Indian singer Rahul Vaidya has opened up about the controversy involving him and star Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli amid the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Vaidya stated that he did not refer to the former Team India skipper as "paagal" (mad) but instead called him a "joker."
The controversy began when Rahul Vaidya took a hilarious dig at Virat Kohli liking a post of actress Avneet Kaur. On Tuesday, Rahul revealed that the veteran cricketer had blocked him on Instagram. The singer also claimed that Kohli's fans then harassed him, his wife, Disha Parmar, and his sister, Shruti Vaidya.
Paagal Nahi Bola, Joker Bola - Rahul Vaidya on Virat Kohli
Rahul Vaidya was recently questioned by the paparazzi regarding his recent comments about Virat Kohli. As Rahul was spotted leaving Mumbai airport, several videos of the interaction surfaced on social media.
The singer clarified that he called Kohli a "joker" and not "paagal." He also expressed frustration over the abuse he and his family received from Kohli's fans. Vaidya stated that the fans were even more foolish than the cricketer himself.
"Paagal nahi bola, joker bola (I did not say mad, I told joker)," he said.
"Agar aapko woh screenshot dikhau na, jis tara ki gaaliyan mujhe, meri family ko, wife ko di hai... fans ne. Maine kaha kya tha, his fans are bigger jokers than him (If I show you the screenshots, the kind of abuses given to me, my family, my wife... by his fans. What have I told, his fans are bigger jokers than him)," he added.
Usne Block Kyu Kiya, Uska Jawab Toh Mile Na Mujhe - Rahul Vaidya
When asked about his remarks, Rahul Vaidya defended himself, saying he hadn’t said anything wrong and added that he is a big cricket fan. However, he asked for an explanation as to why Virat Kohli had blocked him.
"Maine usko galat thodi kaha hai. Mai sabse bada fan hu cricket ka. Usne block kyu kiya uska jawab toh mile na mujhe (I have not told him anything wrong. I am a big fan of cricket. But at least I should get an answer as to why he blocked me)," he said.

Virat Kohli Among Leading Run-Getters in IPL 2025 Season
Virat Kohli will be back in action for RCB on May 9, when they face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium. Kohli has been in excellent form this season. The right-handed batter has amassed 505 runs in 11 matches at an average of 63.12 and a strike rate of 143.46, including seven half-centuries.
The 36-year-old batter’s performances have helped the team win eight of their 11 games. He will next be seen in action during the upcoming match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 9.
With qualification for the IPL 2025 playoffs within reach, a victory over LSG would secure RCB’s spot with 18 points. Kohli, who scored a half-century in their recent win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), will look to continue his form in the upcoming match.
