The student and public protest was organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar area and nearby areas as well. This made headlines across the whole world, and the cricketing fraternity also joined the protest through social media handles after many former cricketers and their wives shared their views on the ongoing CJP protest. The CJP protest urged the resignation of the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and the minister finally dropped his resignation on Saturday afternoon, with students finally succeeding in their demands. It was done due to the leak of the NEET papers and the betterment of education and job employment in the capital of the country.
On July 25, 2026, Pradhan announced his resignation on X (previously known as Twitter). He stated that he stood down to safeguard national unity, prevent anti-national people from exploiting the crisis at Jantar Mantar, and to guarantee that students' careers are not hampered by legal difficulties. It comes right before the third round of scheduled discussions between the government and protesting groups.

Shreevats Goswami, posting on X (formerly Twitter), took a dig at the CJP, as he feels that it will be more fun now that the resignation is done, and he stated to pack the bags and go home, indirectly referring to the students in the tweet and asking them to go back and work.

Sanjay Manjrekar took a dig at the government
Previously, former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar also took a dig at the ruling government without beating around the bush; he straight pointed at the government issues, which mainly include the leaks of the NEET paper, job employment, and more, which saw several students commit suicide after the leak of the paper.
Apart from Manjrekar, several current and former cricketers raised their voices over the concerns. However, none have pointed at the government; they mainly supported the women and the students who were protesting.
Sachin Tendulkar and Shubman Gill raise their voices
Shubman Gill, the current India National Cricket Team ODI and Test captain that every citizen of the country has the right to education, and he also showed his massive respect for the young CJP people who are raising their voices against the wrong deed.
Apart from him, the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, also wrote about the matter on Twitter, showcasing his support to the students and also mentioning that his father was a teacher and a mentor and guide to many young students, as Sachin mentioned that his father said, "Failure is okay, cheating is not. Never take shortcuts."
Many cricketers' wives, like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah’s wives Ritika Sajdeh, Devisha Shetty, and Sanjana Ganesan, have also shared their support for the students and women.
