India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli opened up about the prank his teammates played on him when he met Sachin Tendulkar for the first time. He said that he was told by his team players that he needs to touch the feet of batting great as it's a ritual in a team.

After grinding hard in the domestic circuit, Virat Kohli made it into the Indian team in 2008. At the time, no one knew that he would carry forward the legacy of Sachin Tendulkar. The batter took the world cricket by storm in all three formats of the game and is now the leading batter in cricket.

Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar also shared some great partnerships for India in white-ball and red-ball cricket. But when they were part of the squad for the first time, an interesting tale unfolded as Kohli was pranked by some of the senior players of the team.

Members of the team, Irfan Pathan, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and Munaf Patel, played a hilarious prank on him. The senior players asked the batter to go and touch Sachin Tendulkar's feet which he obliged too and went on to do the thing which was asked by the senior players.

Kohli, while talking about the same incident, revealed that Sachin Tendulkar wasn't involved in the incident, and when he touched down his feet, the batting great moved away and asked him what is he doing. Speaking during an event, he explained:

"No, he (Sachin) wasn't involved. And that series, I think we were playing in England if I am not wrong, in India before the Taj incident. That was 2008, right? I had played for India before but Sachin Paaji wasn't on tour in Sri Lanka. Coincidentally, he has taken a rest, and I got an opportunity to be a member of the squad.

"And the only thing I was looking forward to in the next series was playing with him. So, the first time I met him, this happened, and I fell at his feet. I said, Man, I have to do this. So, he was moving back. He said, what are you doing? I couldn't even tell him. I said, Paji, I was told that I have to do this."

"So, I am doing it. And then he gave all these guys a little bit. I think Irfan Bhai was there, involved in it. Bhajju Pa, Yuvi Paaji and of course, Munaf Patel. He used to be the one cheering from behind. With his unique voice. So, all of them trapped me."

Kohli and Tendulkar were part of the Indian team for the ICC World Cup 2011. They both played the vital role for the team and helped them lift the tournament.
