Former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Team for their thrashing loss against Australia in the first Test. He pointed out that the Shan Masood-led side lacked intent as well as technique and admitted that it was a disappointing performance from them.

The first game of the series between Australia and Pakistan took place at the Optus Stadium in Perth and it saw sheer dominance from the Pat Cummins’ army. They blew away the visitors in their home conditions and won the game by a massive margin of 360 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

It was a usual Australia victory as they opted to bat first, batted long, took wickets, set a target, and blew the opposition away. The Pat Cummins-led side followed a similar pattern as they first posted a gigantic total of 487 runs. Thanks to David Warner, who slammed a blistering century and set the tone for his team.

Mitchell Marsh (90), Travis Head (40), Steve Smith (31), and Alex Carey (34) also made handy contributions that put the team in a great position. Pakistan bowlers struggle most of the time but Aamer Jamal was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged 6 wickets on his debut.

Pakistan in their first innings showed great caution and it seemed that they were up for a fight. The start given by Abdullah Shafique (42) and Imam-ul-Haq (62) gave a sense of relief to fans and after that, Shan Masood (30) too played a part. However, after that things didn’t go their way as they lost wickets in quick succession.

Pakistan were bundled out for just 271 runs in their first innings. Australia took a lead of 215 runs and then decided to extend it. They added 233 runs more and set a gigantic total for Pakistan to chase. Usman Khawaja (90) was the top run-scorer whereas Steve Smith (45) made a vital contribution.

In the chase, Pakistan were completely dominated by the Australian pacers. Micthell Starc and Josh Hazlewood did the carnage with the new ball and picked 6 wickets between them. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon took 3 wickets among them as Australia bowled out opposition for just 89 runs.

PAK vs AUS: “Intent And Technique…,” Ramiz Raja Blasts Pakistan Are Tharshing Loss To Australia

Following Pakistan’s loss against Australia, Ramiz Raja said that the team getting all out in just 31 overs was disappointing. He also praised Australia for their exceptional performance and said that they were on another level. Taking to his X account, he explained:

“Intent and technique were both missing from Pak’s ‘resistance menu’. Blown away in just 31overs in the second knock was disappointing. Aussies were on another level.”

Pakistan faced their 15th consecutive loss against Australia in Australia. They would be hoping to turn things around in the next game on 26th December at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Pakistan have struggled a lot to get going in the Tests against Australia. The new skipper Shan Masood would be eager to make a comeback and change the fortunes of his team in upcoming matches against the Aussies.
