PAK vs AUS: Shadab Khan Provides A Huge Update On His Comeback

Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan provided an update about his comeback. He mentioned that he will recover fully from the injury in the next few weeks and will be fit before the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Shadab Khan injured himself during the National T20 match in Pakistan. The all-rounder injured his foot while fielding and looked in immense pain. He was carried off the field as he couldn???t walk properly and his condition didn???t look great as well.

Shadab Khan was ruled out of the T20I series against New Zealand due to the same injury as he was deemed unfit to play. It will be a major blow for the team as he has been a vital player for them in the shortest format of the game both with the bat as well as the ball.

With Shadab Khan suffering a horrific injury, it wasn???t expected that he would make a comeback early. But it has been nothing short of a miracle. The all-rounder himself mentioned that he will be fit by the first week of January and will be playing the President Trophy and ILT20 before PSL. He explained:

Pakistan Super League will begin on the 13th of February and it will be a crucial tournament for Shadab Khan. The event will be a huge preparation for him for the T20 World Cup 2024, slated to take place in June 2024.

Shadab Khan was last seen in action for Pakistan during the ICC World Cup 2023. He had a torrid time in the tournament and was trolled a lot for his poor performances. His below-par outings were one of the main reasons behind Pakistan???s struggle to get going in the tournament.

Following the World Cup, Shadab Khan was removed as the vice-captain of the team. He wasn???t picked in the team for the ongoing Test series against Australia. The all-rounder???s place in the white-ball team was even under scanner and there were also talks related to him getting dropped from the team.

During the squad announcement of the Pakistan team for the New Zealand T20Is, Chief Selector Wahab Riaz highlighted how crucial member Shadab Khan is for the team in the T20s.

Wahab Riaz also revealed that Shadab Khan will be taking a few weeks for his rehab and will be bowling after that. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

???Shadab is a very important member of Pakistan T20 cricket and he???s a white-ball specialist. Unfortunately he got injured during the season; he twisted his ankle which will take another two weeks for rehab. He will be available to bowl after that. Shadab will also come to the academy after his ankle injury and he???ll undergo rehab.???
