Pakistan Cricket Team won a tight match against Bangladesh on 13 October. Once again the duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan led the run chase as they were involved in a 101-run stand. Bangladeshi fielders were a bit sloppy in the field due to which the batters were able to convert ones into twos.
Pakistan once again wobbled a bit, this time Mohammad Nawaz played a blinder. The left-handed batter smashed 45 runs in 20 balls where he was looking in sublime touch. Bangladesh on the other hand would be crestfallen as they were not able to win a single match in the Tri-Series.
Mohammad Rizwan on Match
Mohammad Rizwan was seen interacting with the official broadcasters after the conclusion of the match. “Credit to the Bangladeshi bowlers, they bowled really well. Starts are important in chases, so we wanted to keep wickets for the last 10 overs. Credit to Nawaz for his innings on this slightly sticky pitch.” said Rizwan
“Some of our batters went deep, some went from the first ball, Nawaz’s innings was outstanding. It was a difficult chase, it’s a team game, we tend to keep wickets in hand with power hitters down the order. Babar and I always keep in mind the conditions as we go out to play. We will work hard and hopefully, the results will come.” he added.
Pakistan on a Roll
The Men in Green would be having mixed feelings. The team once again was dependent on Babar & Rizwan but in the end they found a match-winner in the form of Mohammad Nawaz. It looks like the musical chairs of middle order batters are working.
Pakistan’s unpredictable nature can prove to be too costly. Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq would be delighted as they are slowly peaking. Pakistan should not get complacent as they have a habit of losing matches massively. It would be interesting to see whether Pakistan wins the Final against New Zealand as both teams have been dominant.
