PAK vs ENG: “Babar Azam Is Not Captaincy Material”- Danish Kaneria

England Cricket Team was on a roll during the 1st day of the Test Match against Pakistan. The team registered the highest number of runs 506-4 at the end of Day 1. Skipper Babar Azam was seen clueless as all the bowlers were taken to the cleaners and he was quite defensive in his approach.

Skipper Ben Stokes’ decision to bat first proved to be quite fruitful as England was quite ruthless in their approach. Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope & Harry Brook struck centuries and dominated the terms against an inexperienced bowling attack.

Danish Kaneria on Babar Azam

Danish Kaneria was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and made interesting comments on Babar Azam. Babar Azam is not captaincy material. We have seen him in T20, ODI and Tests. Remove him immediately, ask him to bat and make someone else captain.” said Danish Kaneria.

“You are playing in your home conditions. You’ve played all your life here. Babar Azam removed slips when Haris Rauf was bowling, who has not played a four-day Test. At least go with a slip and gully, but he scattered his field right from the start.” he added.

Poor Bowling from Pakistan

The bowlers were not able to contain the batters and were giving a lot of freebies. It was clearly evident that Pakistan missed the services of Shaheen Afridi as the speedster could have made a difference with his angle and line and length.

Pakistan’s decision to not include Hasan Ali in the squad didn’t go well as he is someone who could have put up a fight and fox the batters with variations.  The youngster Naseem Shah surprisingly wasn’t able to rattle the opponent as we have seen how lethal he can be on a given day. There’s no doubt that the pitch was flat and wasn’t quite bowling friendly but there was no fight shown from the Men in Green.
