England Cricket Team would be riding high on confidence after winning the Test Series by 3-0 against Pakistan. The visitors displayed a great exhibition between bat & ball. Rehan Ahmed, the 18-year-old youngster took 7 wickets in the Test Match which included a 5-wicket haul in the 2nd innings.
Pakistan on the other end would be crestfallen as they didn’t put up a fight in the 3rd Test Match. The wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan had a forgettable Series where he hardly made any impact. The Pakistani fans would expect a lot of changes after a disappointing outing.
Brendon McCullum on Rehan Ahmed
Brendon McCullum was having an interaction with BBC Test Match Special and was asked whether Rehan Ahmed would get an IPL contract.
“It would be great. It would be awesome if he did. Why not? Why not get an opportunity to go and play under different coaches and different captains and rub shoulders with different players and pick up those experiences? What 18-year-old kid anywhere else in world cricket is going to get those chances? I think we should encourage it. He’s got a real future. He’s a guy who has been on the radar of English cricket for a little while.” said Brendon McCullum.
Poor Performance from Pakistan
Pakistan would rue the fact that they couldn’t grab key moments of the match. Skipper Babar Azam had said that the team is playing a lot of matches and stated that could be the reason behind injuries. It won’t be wrong to say that but it looked as if Pakistan were not ready for the steep challenge.
There are some reports that state that PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja would be removed from the post and there would be changes in the management too. The decision to not include Fawad & Shadab proved to be quite costly as the dup could have made the difference.
