England Cricket Team was on a roll against Pakistan on the 1st Day of the Test Match. England smashed 506-4 in 75 overs where 4 batters, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope & Harry Brook struck centuries and it looked as if they were toying with Pakistan’s inexperienced bowling lineup.
Pakistan had no answers to England’s ultra-aggressive approach as Baba Azam looked clueless. Ben Stokes’ decision to bat first proved to be quite fruitful. They had only one change to their playing 11 as Ben Foakes was not fully recovered from the illness in his place Will Jacks got a chance.
Jos Buttler on Harry Brook
Jos Buttler was having an interaction with Sky Sports and was asked about Harry Brook. “You watch him bat in the nets and has a very disciplined method, Even during the T20s he would unfurl a perfect forward defense. He has so much game for every format. He has got it all, easy power as well. He loves batting, just as much as Joe Root.” said Jos Buttler.
Stern Test for Pakistan
Pakistan would be shattered as the way England has hammered them is quite lethal. The pitch hardly had anything in it for bowlers and most importantly the pacers were getting quite predictable. Pakistan would be well aware of the fact that England may target 700 runs and if that happens it would require a herculean effort to save the Test Match.
England wouldn’t have asked for a better batting track. The skipper Ben Stokes would be thrilled after seeing the youngsters dominating the day as it was a rare off day for Joe Root who scored 23 runs in 31 balls. England would sense that they have a solid chance to bury Pakistan’s World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) campaign. England would be hoping that the pitch starts to misbehave else they won’t be able to stamp their authority against mighty Pakistan.
