In a humiliating whitewash on home soil on Tuesday, Babar Azam‘s side reached an all-time low when they fell by eight wickets in Karachi, a first for the national team. Pakistan also lost four straight games for the first time ever in Test cricket during this period.
The tourists just needed 55 runs to win the game on Tuesday, the fourth day of the third Test against England. Ben Stokes struck a half-century, and Ben Duckett scored the winning run with a boundary as England finished the chase in just 67 balls without losing a wicket.

The Way England Played, We Should Be Appreciating That: Babar Azam
Babar Azam received a lot of criticism for serving as the series’ captain and for being chosen for the playing XI, but he replied angrily to the criticism.
“Yes it was very disappointing for us and even for me as a captain because we couldn’t apply ourselves. But the way England played, we should be appreciating that. We were also a bit unfortunate because our our main fast bowlers were not fit. There were a couple of debuts, they played well, but not execute in that fashion,” Babar said in the post-match presser after the loss.

Captaincy Does Not Affect My Batting At All: Babar Azam
He responded when questioned about the criticism of his Test captaincy, “The second point which you mentioned, there is no such pressure. In fact, I enjoy that. And it does not affect my batting at all. It been an honour. I always try to give my best for the country. Pehle Pakistan, baki sab cheezein baadme (First comes Pakistan, then follows the rest).”
Pakistan dropped to sixth place in the World Test Championship points table as a result of the loss. With five Tests scheduled at home at the beginning of this month, including two matches against New Zealand, the Babar-led team had a chance to advance to the WTC championship game. However, their devastating series loss has disqualified them from the competition.
