Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, claimed that the curator at the Rawalpindi Cricket Ground took his suggestions but did not give him the track he requested for the first Test against England.
On the fifth day, the hosts lost the Test by 74 runs. In response to England’s declaration, Pakistan was bowled out for 268 on the last day with a target of 343 runs in over 100 overs.

After England scored more than 500 runs on the first day and seven centuries were recorded over the course of the first two innings, the pitch received widespread criticism from everyone.
“Yes my input was there in the pitch preparation and we made it clear what we wanted but we didn’t get that because of the weather or whatever reason. But we wanted a track with some turn for the spinners,” Babar told a post-match conference on Monday.

Babar Azam also praised England for their continued commitment to playing well.
“We expected them to keep playing like way against us. When your bowlers are not hitting the appropriate spots and runs are being scored on both sides of the wicket, I believe it gets difficult for a captain. But they deserve full credit for how they batted in both innings, “Babar stated.
“It’s never easy to come back after the opposition scores 500 on the first day, but I believed we batted effectively and were near to their total, but our hitters didn’t live up to the responsibilities in the second innings,” Babar Azam remarked.
Pakistan suffered heartbreak on Sunday as they lost the opening match of the Test series against England in Rawalpindi by 75 runs.
