Pakistan and England face off in the sixth T20I in Lahore on September 30. The hosts lead the series 3-2 after winning the last two games consecutively. The hosts have won their last two games defending and both the games went down to the wire. This series has been one of the most closely fought bilateral series in recent times. The series has also prepared both teams for the T20 World Cup.

If Haris Rauf was Pakistan’s hero in the fourth T20I, a young debutant named Aamer Jamal helped his side win the match in the fifth T20I. He defended 15 off his last over as he nailed his wide yorkers not allowing the England batters to take him for runs.

“Feeling is different and I am speechless with happiness. Saqlain Mushtaq told me about the good news that I will be playing the match today and I had tears in my eyes. He then asked me about my plans for the match. I told him that I will stay on what I have the best command on and will act according to the situations in the match. I struggled a lot to reach here. I played for Pakistan U19 and then had a gap of 4 years. But I kept working hard and never gave up. I thank god that this season went well and now I am making my debut for Pakistan,” Jamal said.

Talking about the weather throughout the series so far, it has been warm and humid at both venues. International cricket has returned to Pakistan after a long time and thus the pitches have assisted well for T20 cricket. Scores of 160 to 200 have been posted consistently and chased on a few occasions. The previous game was a rare example of Pakistan not crossing the 160-run mark. Another similar sort of contest is expected in the next game.

Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium has hosted 18 T20Is with 10 matches won by the team batting first. 8 matches have been won by the team chasing. The PAK vs ENG sixth T20I will start at 7.30 pm local time. The temperature will be around 30 degrees in the evening and the weather clear for good cricket. Humidity will be close to 70 per cent and dew is expected to play a part in the contest.
