Bas de Leede has provided his team with a crucial breakthrough in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 against Pakistan. The second game of the tournament is currently taking place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Pakistan were asked to bat first and they they didn’t have a great start as they lost three quick wickets and were tumbling at 38/3. After the Netherlands dismissed Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan looked dangerous and tried to take attack the bowlers and looked dangerous. But his stay at the crease was cut short by Bas de Leede.

Bas de Leede bowled a scrambled seam delivery that was short of a length. Mohammad Rizwan tried to flick it and the ball went through his defenses to hit the top of the off stump.

Mohammad Rizwan batted superbly as he bailed his team out of trouble. The keeper-batter smashed 68 runs off 75 balls and also smashed 8 boundaries in his innings. His knock helped Pakistan get past 150 runs.

Bas de Leede Removes Iftikhar Ahmed in the same over

Bas de Leede continued his carnage on the Pakistan batters as he in the same over sent Iftikhar Ahmed packing as well. He bowled a short-length delivery that moved away a bit. The ball caught the outside edge and the keeper took a brilliant low catch.

Iftikhar Ahmed scored just 9 runs off 11 balls. With his wicket, Pakistan were left tottering at 188/6. They had a great recovery in the middle overs but they lost three quick wickets again as were put on the back foot. They would be hoping that tailenders along with Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan add some runs to take them to the fighting total.
