New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson gave a befitting reply to a reporter who asked him about if he was having sleepless nights thinking about how to bowl to Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam. He shut the journo up with his cheeky reply.

New Zealand are currently locking horns with Afghanistan in the five-match T20I series. The Black Caps have displayed two sensational performances and have bagged the first two games with fine margins. They were better on both occasions and have taken a 2-0 lead in the series.

Locke Ferguson missed the first two games due to the injury but it is expected to return for the last game. The fast bowler for the first time will be playing against Pakistan in the series as he will be replacing Ben Sears.

Lockie Ferguson was asked about the challenge of bowling to Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman and whether is he sleepless at night thinking of how to bowl at left-hander and Babar Azam. Replying to this, he said that he was sleeping like a baby.

Lockie Ferguson admitted that both the batters are skilled and they enjoy playing with shorter boundaries. Speaking to reporters, he said (as quoted by Cricket Pakistan):

“No, I am sleeping like a baby. But obviously they are skilled batters. Played against them quite a lot. I think they enjoy coming down here. Probably Fakhar enjoys the shorter boundaries. Tomorrow is another opportunity against a quality batting line-up, so look forward to the challenge.”

PAK vs NZ: We have got our plans for them – Lockie Ferguson on bowling to Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam

Lockie Ferguson further added that they have plans against Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam. He admitted that both the batters will have an upper edge due to shorter boundaries but they will have to start from zero. He added:

“They [Babar and Fakhar] are good players. We have got our plans for them. I think the boys have bowled really well against them. Those guys have great swing pass and can get away with it on short boundaries, but they start on zero tomorrow just like us.”

Babar Azam has been in terrific form in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. He has slammed two half-centuries in two games and would be hoping to play another good knock in the third game.

Fakhar Zaman on the other hand has played two great canoes in the two matches. He would be hoping to score big in the next game. New Zealand would be hoping to clinch the series in the next game and then give opportunities to youngsters in the last two games. Pakistan, however, would be keen to make a comeback and keep the series alive.

They have announced the playing 11 for the third game. If they have to win the game and make a comeback, Babar Azam along with Fakhar Zaman need to bring their A-game and help the team. The duo would be crucial for the team. The third match between the teams will be played on Wednesday (17th January).
