PAK vs SL: Shahid Afridi Comes Down Brutally On Babar Azam and Co After Shambolic Defeat vs India

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has expressed his disappointment over Pakistan???s performance against India in the Super 4 match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.

One of the firm favourites to win the competition, Pakistan suffered a humiliating 228-run defeat against their arch-rivals. It is Pakistan???s heaviest defeat in ODIs in terms of runs against Team India. Barring the toss, nothing much went Pakistan???s way throughout the game as India???s bowlers and batsmen thoroughly dominated the contest.

Asked to bat first, India were off to a great start thanks to fifties from openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul then made the most of the solid foundation and went on to score unbeaten centuries to power India to a mammoth total of 356 for 2 in 50 overs.

While Kohli remained unbeaten on 122, Rahul remained unbeaten on 111. In reply, Pakistan???s batsmen failed to put up any fight with the bat. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 128. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball for India, taking 5 wickets for just 25 runs off his 8 overs.

After the game, Shahid Afridi took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticise Pakistan???s disastrous performance. He called out Babar Azam & Co. for now showing any intent to win. Shahid Afridi also congratulated Virat Kohli for completing 13000 runs in ODIs and praised KL Rahul too as he wrote:
