Sohail Imran from the Geo TV network stated that several Pakistan cricketers have raised concerns about Mike Hesson’s conduct. Imran said that the cricketers believe Hesson has been making decisions without consulting others.
"According to sources cricketers have complained to the board about head coach Mike Hesson’s behavior. They claim he made decisions without consultation showed stubbornness and left players upset while blame fell on the captain and team," Imran wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Aleem Dar Steps Down From Pakistan Men’s Selection Committee
Aleem Dar has stepped down from the Pakistan men’s selection committee after reportedly feeling ignored during important selection discussions. According to Geo News, Dar had opposed the selection of Babar Azam, Shadab Khan and Usman Khan in Pakistan’s squad.
Babar scored just 91 runs in four innings at a strike rate slightly above a run-a-ball. The former captain was even dropped from the playing XI for the match against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Shadab scored 183 runs in the competition and managed to take only five wickets.
Dar had instead supported wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan for the important No. 6 position. He argued that if players with inconsistent performances were being given opportunities, Rizwan also deserved a clear role in the middle order.
Dar’s resignation brings an end to his 17-month tenure as a selector. He was appointed on October 11, 2024, when the Pakistan Cricket Board formed a revamped selection panel that also included Aqib Javed, former Test captain Azhar Ali and analyst Hasan Cheema.
Pakistan Knocked Out After Missing Semifinals for Fourth Straight ICC Event
Pakistan failed to reach the semifinals of the ICC tournament for the fourth time in a row. Despite making it to the Super 8 stage, the side could not maintain consistency and were eliminated from the competition.
Pakistan qualified for the Super 8 as the second-best team in Group A. They played four matches, winning two and losing two, including a heavy loss to India. However, they kept their hopes alive by securing an important victory over Namibia.
In the Super 8 stage, Pakistan's first match against New Zealand was abandoned due to rain. The Men in Green then lost to England. Although the team managed to beat Sri Lanka in their final match, the margin of victory was not enough to overtake New Zealand’s net run rate.
