Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed took a sharp dig at former Pakistan captain Salman Butt after his “second-choice wicketkeeper” statement.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Butt had said that Sarfaraz was not doing any favour for himself and he was just creating difficulties. He added that Sarfaraz needs to focus more on himself and his performance rather than others because he has been travelling with the Pakistan National Cricket Team as a second-choice wicketkeeper for the past 1.5 years.

“He (Sarfaraz) is not doing any favour for himself. He is only creating difficulties for himself, and I’m sure he won’t have any answer for that today. He needs to concentrate on himself; he needs to look after his own performance, as he has been travelling with the Pakistan team as a second-choice wicketkeeper in the past 1.5 years. He needs to look after his own performance and not interfere with others’.’

Notably, Ahmed has scored just 37 runs in the ongoing Pakistan Super League at a poor strike rate of 115.62.

The Quetta Gladiators skipper in the Pakistan Super League, Sarfaraz Ahmed, took to Twitter to state that a player who sold Pakistan while on duty should be the last person to judge others.

Pakistan ko on duty beachne wala fixer jub niyat pe bhashan dega phir to Allah he Hafiz hai .#justsying’’ (Those who sold Pakistan while ‘on duty’ should be the last person to judge the intention of others).

This was a dig at Butt’s involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal, where he was leading Pakistan when the fixing scandal broke out in England. Also, on 31 August 2010, he was removed from captaincy and dropped from the squad.
