Pakistan Cricket Team had a topsy-turvy ICC T20 World Cup 2022 where they showed great fighting and great spirit. Pakistan Fans would be dejected as now Shaheen Afridi is ruled out till April. Earlier, the pacer was advised to two-week rehabilitation and was expected to bit for England Tests.

The skipper Babar Azam would be disappointed as Shaheen Afridi is the star bowler who has the knack for being the partnership breaker for the team. We saw how the Pakistan team struggled to find a replacement for Shaheen in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022 and England T20I Series.

Shaheen Afridi Injury Update

A source in PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has made some interesting comments on Shaheen Afridi. “He underwent a surgical procedure to remove the appendicitis today and doctors have now advised him at least six weeks rest before he can return to cricket activities.” the source said.

“This basically means he is definitely ruled out of the three Tests against England being held in December while he will also not be able to appear in the two Tests against New Zealand that follow. Even his participation in the Pakistan Super League will depend on his recovery progress but it will also be the decision of his franchise when and how they play him in the league,” the source added.

Huge Blow for Pakistan

Pakistan Cricket Board wouldn’t have thought that injury of Shaheen would prove to be this dangerous. The left-arm speedster was seen in tears in the final of the T20 World Cup where he was injured in the middle of the over. With so much cricketing action aligned up, Shaheen could have been the X factor for the team.

Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq would be bothered as the angle which Shaheen creates is quite disturbing. The Men in Green now have a strenuous task on their hands as both England and New Zealand tours are quite pivotal to the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 as Pakistan has a solid chance of making it to the finals.
