Indian Cricket Team registered a convincing victory against New Zealand in the 2nd T20I match. The Men in Blue won the match by 65 runs and were quite clinical in all the 3 departments of the game. Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was unable to score significant runs at the top as the batter scored 6 runs in 13 balls.

New Zealand Cricket Team wouldn’t have expected carnage when Suryakumar Yadav scored 111 runs in 51 balls and struck 11 fours and 7 sixes. The right-handed batter was in beast mode, it looked as if he was toying with the bowling lineup.

Ashish Nehra on Rishabh Pant

Ashish Nehra was having an interaction with Prime Video and was asked about Ashish Nehra. “Ya, Rishabh Pant did not look in good touch. He did hit one boundary at the start but did not find his timing later on. Especially in these conditions, you just can’t look to hit the ball hard and you have to look at timing the ball well. And a few times even Ishan Kishan, he was beaten but he stayed there and now is looking good, but we have seen him better than this.” said Ashish Nehra.

“The thing is that IPL and international cricket are different ball games, there is a different pressure, different mindset, I want to see how much does this opening pair get backed by the team management. The kind of conditions today, there was a little bit for the bowlers. I want to see what they do with their opening options, main thing is that they cannot be confused.” he added.

Crucial match for India

The upcoming 3rd T20I match would be pivotal for a lot of youngsters. The likes of Ishan Kishan and Deepak Hooda will have to make sure that they make it count as they won’t get a chance often against a quality New Zealand team.

The Men in Blue would be hoping to continue the winning run as last time in 2020, India  had won the Series by 5-0 which was quite a great achievement. It would be interesting to see whether New Zealand makes any tactical changes.
