Pakistan squads for West Indies tour officially announced; Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi return

Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Afridi are all set to return to action as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the squads for the upcoming West Indies tour. The Men in Green are all set to face the West Indies in 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs in the USA and Caribbean from July 31 to August 12.
Mohammad Rizwan will lead Pakistan’s 16-member squad in the upcoming three-match ODI series, which will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad & Tobago on August 8, 10, and 12.

On the other hand, Salman Ali Agha continues as Pakistan’s T20I captain, with three matches against the West Indies set for July 31 and August 2, and 3 at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, USA.

Young batter Hasan Nawaz has earned his first ODI call-up for the upcoming white-ball series. He is the only uncapped player in the ODI squad, while senior stars like Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi are named in the squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies.
Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Afridi returned to Pakistan’s T20I squad for the West Indies series. On the other hand, rising talents Saim Ayub, Hasan Nawaz, and Mohammad Haris have also found a place in the T20I squad. Pakistan will arrive in the USA on Sunday, 27 July.

Meanwhile, the Men in Green were recently on a Bangladesh tour for a white-ball series. Pakistan ended their T20I series on a positive note by defeating Bangladesh by 74 runs in the final match at Mirpur. However, they lost the T20I series 2-1 to Bangladesh, but the visitors avoided a clean sweep with a strong all-round performance in the final T20I.
Well, it was a much-needed win for Pakistan, as they wrapped up the tour on a high note before embarking on the USA tour.
