The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 season draft has been rescheduled from the originally planned date, according to the latest news reports. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has delayed it by two days to accommodate the production team and broadcasters for preparation due to the weather forecast.

The tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League is scheduled for the April-May window due to the Pakistan Cricket Board co-hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in February-March. Notably, the PCB had opened registration for overseas players in December to add their names to the drafting process.

The PSL draft was initially scheduled for January 11 in Gwadar, Balochistan. However, the draft date has been rescheduled to January 13 in Lahore due to a weather forecast. The two-day postponement will provide extra time for the production team and broadcasters to make necessary preparations.

A rehearsal for the draft will take place on January 12. The event will be held at Bara Dari in Lahore, with PSL management prioritizing a smooth and well-organized process. An official announcement confirming the new draft date is expected shortly.

Big names could join the PSL, but some players may not be tempted due to the salary caps.

Notable players who have registered for the PSL draft include former Australian opener David Warner, retired New Zealand pacer Tim Southee, and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman. More than 80 players have expressed interest in joining the PSL draft.
