Pakistan vs England Umpire Panel and Match Officials announced

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday, October 3, announced the match officials for the upcoming Pakistan vs England Test series, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25.

Notably, Pakistan will be hosting England in a three-match Test series this October. Well, Sir Richie Richardson, a respected figure in international cricket and a key member of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, has been appointed to oversee the match control teams for the much-anticipated Test series between England and Pakistan.

PCB announces match officials for the Pakistan vs England Test series

The much-awaited Pakistan vs England Test series will take place at two venues in Pakistan, with Multan and Rawalpindi set to host the three matches from October 7 to October 28, 2024.

The PCB has confirmed that the Pakistan vs England first Test match will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium from 7 to 11 October, while the second Test match will be played at the same venue from 15 to 19 October.

The Pakistan vs England third and final Test match will take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 24.

According to the PCB press release, the match officiating duties for first Pakistan vs England Test will be handled by two eminent names from the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires: Sri Lanka’s Kumar Dharmasena and Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula Saikat.

Both Dharmasena and Saikat will serve as the on-field umpires in the first Test. New Zealand’s Christopher Gaffaney, also from the Elite Panel, will take up the role of third umpire, while Pakistan’s Asif Yaqoob, a member of the ICC International Panel of Umpires, will serve as the fourth umpire in the first Test at Multan.

Rashid Riaz will serve as the fourth umpire in the second Test

For the Pakistan vs England second Test, Dharmasena will return as an on-field umpire, and Gaffaney will be his partner, while Saikat will switch to third umpire duties.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s Rashid Riaz, another member of the ICC International Panel, will step in as the fourth umpire for the second Test.

At the end, Gaffaney and Saikat will take charge as the on-field umpires in the third and final Test between Pakistan and England at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Dharmasena will oversee the match as the third umpire, while Pakistan’s Faisal Aafreedi, who is also part of the ICC International Panel of Umpires, will serve as the fourth umpire in the final Test.

Earlier, PCB had announced that the tickets for the upcoming Test series between Pakistan and England are available for purchase online through PCB.tcs.com.pk. To attract fans, entry to the general enclosures will be free on the opening day of both Test matches in Multan.

Additionally, entry to the premium enclosures will also be complimentary for the first day of the third and final test in Rawalpindi. The tickets will be available for a low price of PKR 50, and it goes up to PKR 2500 for the Test series.
